About Heidi Brown Mediation
Since graduating from law school, my sole practice has been civil litigation, with an emphasis on personal injury and workers' compensation matters. Upon graduating from Ohio Northern University in 2001, I began work as an associate attorney with Hedrick Gardner Kincheloe and Garofalo, LLP, formerly Hedrick Eatman Gardner and Kincheloe, in Charlotte, North Carolina. As an insurance defense attorney, I represented insurance companies, employers and individuals. In 2006, I left Hedrick Gardner and joined Crumley Roberts, LLP, formerly Crumley and Associates, as an attorney in the workers' compensation department, representing injured workers. After returning from maternity leave in the Spring of 2008, I changed focus and worked as an attorney in the personal injury department. I left Crumley Roberts in late 2010 to devote my attention and skills to full-time mediation.
After attending my first mediation, I knew I would ultimately become a mediator myself. Having practiced on both sides of the aisle (defense and plaintiff), in workers' compensation and general personal injury cases, provides me a unique and more global perspective as I approach mediation. First-hand knowledge of the primary concerns and approaches of both defendants and plaintiffs, will help me assist the opposing parties reach a mutually beneficial resolution to their cases.
